Rakesh has over 18 years of editorial
and content management experience with specialization
in all flavors of Information and Communications Technologies
(ICTs, including telecoms). He has worked as the Editor
– Information Technology for A&M Group of
business magazines (Group Technology Editor) besides
holding senior editorial positions for Dataquest (Cyber
Media Group) and Computers Today (India Today Group).
He has also contributed articles/columns on ICTs regularly
for The Tribune, The Indian Express, The Financial
Express, and a few other publications in India.
Besides, as an independent content
consultant, he has provided editorial, business/technology
analysis, market research, and content quality assurance
services to major local and multinational technology/telecom
companies. He has also handled major custom publishing
projects independently for leading global technology
companies. He has extensive online media experience
while running three Web-based content portals under
a company that he formed during the late 1990s.
In 1995, Rakesh was conferred the
National-level government-instituted award for his
contribution in the field of IT journalism, which
has been a unique distinction in the country. The
award was presented to him at the Republic Day function.
While he has done M.Sc. (Statistics)
with Computer Science Orientation from Panjab University,
Chandigarh, he started his career as a software developer
and worked for almost seven years with a couple of
leading technology companies.
His current role at ITNation
is to strengthen the editorial activity and create
processes to tap more business opportunities in the
new media space.
